It seems that Disney has finally caught up to history and created a storyline for its FIRST black prince in its newest live action movie. The role goes to Niles Fitch, probably most recognizable for his role in This Is Us as young Randal to mega star Sterling K. Brown.

Fitch, revealed the big news on his Instagram page writing “Welcome Disney’s first Black prince.” Fitch will star as Prince Tuma in the Disney+ movie, Secret Society of Second Born Royals. Prince Tuma is described as “charismatic” — his “super-human ability is vital to the team’s success, but his self-centered nature needs a lesson in empathy,” his bio reads, per Disney+.

Entertainment Weekly revealed the exclusive first look to the Disney+ sci-fi movie, which you can see below, that follows Sam (Peyton Elizabeth Lee), a rebellious princess living in the kingdom of Illyria. Sam lives in her older sisters shadows who is next in line for the throne. “Sam soon finds out that being a second-born royal has its own perks: Not only does the birth order mean she scores superpowers, but she’s also drafted into a top secret group of other gifted young recruits.”

Secret Society of Second Born Royals is set to premiere on Disney+ this summer 2020.
